Meeooowww, Thistle, here. :) It’s so good to have my parents and my annoying HUMONGOUS little sister home. Although, I must say that Briar isn’t eating my head near as much as she used to. We like to hang out and snuggle and that’s pretty pawsome. 😊 There were many children in the library this week, which makes me, Briar, and Mom sooooo very happy. We love kids. Adults are great too, especially the ones that hold me and give me lovies. On Monday the Little Tykes read stories about mothers and then made Mother’s Day posters for their moms. They did such a good job. They were absolutely purrrfect! On Wednesday we had Memory Mates where we keep our minds sharp with physical movement and brain games. We just love Valerie Ramsey. She’s the sweetest! Last Thursday night we had a super cool class about genealogy. Lois Trinity came from Red Oak and taught us all things Family Search Research Wiki. We only had a few people attend, but those who attended learned a lot and had a great time together. We are organizing a Library Youth Council made up of seventh to twelfth graders to meet, advise, and implement teen programming in our library and community. If you’d like to join us, let us know! Mom’s getting things together and preparing for the summer reading program. You should see all the games and activities that have been coming in the mail. I think the UPS guy might feel like he lives here! LOL Our theme this year is “Paws to Read!” (Get it? Pause to read?! 😹 It’s killin’ me!!) There are lots of fun activities for all ages. Mom says reading is for everyone from tall to small and that reading can take you anywhere you want to go. I really like the books about felines (I think that’s the word). Sign-ups for the reading program will start at the end of May. All ages are welcome. Knowledge is power! 😊 Here is the regular library line-up:

What activities, classes, or get-togethers of any kind would you like to see the Malvern Public Library provide for our community? Call my Mom, Lisa Formhals, or, Hans Leitner, your assistant librarian, at the library (712-624-8554) to give your input on what activities you’d like to have offered at your library. May you get lots of snuggles, Thistle, the library kitten.
