Woof-woof, Briar speaking. :) Last Monday was a crazy day! We had Little Tykes Story Time AND Epp Foundation started excavating the west side Carnegie wall. I tried to convince Mom to let me help them (I’m a super good digger.) but she said, “No, no, no.” (I NEVER get to have any fun.) But at least there was super cool machinery that the kids and I got to see AND the workers were super happy to see me and Thistle. We got lots of loves. Mom didn’t let me hang out with the littles too much, today. She said something about 61.5 lbs of battering ram? Anyway, I had to watch from a distance and listen through the office door. I don’t know what THAT was all about. The littles made Easter egg crafts and put together an alphabet puzzle that sings the alphabet when you push a button. Mom said that the littles LOVED pushing that button…over and over…and over again! LOL She said the grandmas and moms had that puzzle all packed away before my mom could get to it.;) Epp Foundation worked on excavating and fixing that Carnegie wall for three days. Sometimes it was really loud. Mom said that the really loud machine was called a tamper. She said it packed the dirt back in nice and tight. I wanted to go help again (I LOVE to play in the dirt.) but Mom said, “No.” Why does she always say that? Mom’s getting things together and preparing for the summer reading program. She says there are lots of fun things planned. I’m excited to see the kids a lot more when school gets out. I love playing with the kids. My favorite game to play with them is ball. I like to chase the ball and bring it back to them so they can throw it again. I also like to play hide and go seek. Another favorite game is tug o’ war. Kids are THE BEST!! I love them. Oh, good news!! Mom said to tell you that the Malvern Public Library has a new policy for check outs. There are no longer late fees and the length of time for check outs has changed. If you had late fees on your account, you no longer do. Come in and see for yourself. It’s time you used your library again.:). “Nothing feels as good as a clean slate,” Mom says. (Not sure what she means, but maybe you do.;) Here is what’s happening at the library on a regular basis:
Saturdays (most activities appropriate for school age children and families):
Special closure dates- My Mom and Dad are going to Italy to visit their non-furry kids and grandkids in April so the library will be closed on several of the days that Mom is gone. The library will be unusually closed on:
We are so sorry to have to close on those days, but do not have any trained staff that is available to take over on those particular days. We hope you will be able to get what you need from the library on the days we are open. Library hours will return to normal on Wednesday, May 3rd. Thank you so much for your understanding. My Mom is so excited to hold and kiss her grandchildren. It’ll have been a year since she last saw them. (Grandma’s are so sappy…) Special Programming:
What activities, classes, or get-togethers of any kind would you like to see the Malvern Public Library provide for our community? Call my Mom, Lisa Formhals, or, Hans Leitner, your assistant librarian, at the library (712-624-8554) to give your input on what activities you’d like to have offered at your library. May you get lots of belly rubs, Briar, the library puppy.
