Woof Woof New Year Greetings,
This is Briar woofing, I mean, speaking. Here’s hoping you all had a woofiful Happy New Year!! I did! I got to spend it in Cherokee, Iowa playing with my mom, Ellie, and my older sister, Gweny. We played tug o’ war and wrestling ALL THE TIME!!! It was so awesome! Mom even brought my squeaky toys. Dad REALLY loved that. This past week I got to play with soooooo many people at the library. Lots of kids and adults gave me petses. I am trying to learn not to jump on people, but I just get so excited I can barely stand it! Mom tells me, “Off”, when I do that. It’s hard to be obedient. This week is our super cool health fair on Saturday, January 7, 2023, from 10:00 am-2:00 pm at the library. There will be a whole bunch of people there with health information on lots of different aspects of health. Mom says it’s the time of year when many people make New Year's resolutions. My New Year resolution is to chew up more sticks. Sticks are so delicious. Mom wanted me to ask if any of you would be interested in starting a sewing/crafting-by-hand group at the library. She says it’s when people get together and work on something they are creating with their hands while chatting and visiting with each other. Sort of a grown-up play group…well, at least not for toddlers like me. She also wanted me to ask if there are any avid puzzlers out there (whatever avid means…) that would be interested in starting a puzzling group at the library. Mom says it’s another playgroup, but for all ages. We have floor puzzles and regular puzzles from toddlers to 950 years old, like Moses! It’s a great way to work your brain and build relationships with the people in your community (I think that means the place where you live). We will be starting a fun time for kids and families on Saturdays from 1:00-3:00 pm at the library. There will be a different activity on most Saturdays. From movies to arts, crafts, legos, duplos, clay sculpting, painting, and other fun things. Stay tuned to our website, malvernlibrary.weebly.com, and our Facebook page, Malvern Public Library for details. Mom is going to start story time at East Mills Elementary School this week. She will be spending time on Thursday afternoons with a few different classes each week. We are so excited about this! Mom says when I become more obedient, I will get to go too!!!! I’m so excited for the day when I can have children read stories to me! Well, we’d like to invite you all to come to check out our books and movies or to just drop by for a friendly visit. Petses are always welcome. Until next time, Briar, the Library Puppy
