Participants will: - Read a book about or from another culture they hope to learn more about - Engage in group discussion on topics of intercultural exchange and addressing prejudice - Write and panel out their very own comic book superhero story - Think critically about the role of culture in your own life and the greater community This weeklong program concludes with a Japanese culture workshop and concert performance by the incredible Kokyo Taiko drummers group from Lincoln, NE. Learn about the Kimono, create your own Japanese calligraphy bookmarks, experience the thrill of the traditional Japanese drumming ceremony and more! All ages are welcome!
